The Overwhelm AI Can Reduce

Well, hello, friends. I'm so happy you're here. I can't wait to talk about this nerdy stuff, like AI stuff. I love it. I'm so happy that you're here learning and that you're gonna try to make your business more efficient, like I am trying to do. This episode is gonna talk you through here what to do about AI and your business. Like where to start, okay. But also how I hired an agent this morning. I literally hired an agent this morning, and it's not a person, it's an AI agent. And I've got to tell you all this stuff, y'all. It's crazy what it can do. And I'm sitting here just walking around the house going, what is this world coming to? We're gonna all have our own AI agent that knows us so well, probably better than we know ourselves, isn't it? It's so crazy. Like, I can't even imagine. But, anyways, I wanted to think about you right now. Thinking about you in your business, you may be saying, like I've said plenty of times over the past 26, almost 27 years, um, I can barely keep up with everything. I never get my to-do list done. There's so many things I need to work on with my website or new products that I want to have or new services that I want to offer, or, you know, getting my website up or doing social media, you know, doing Instagram. I always say that. Like I just can't come up with all the stuff for Instagram because it's just not my best skill. This podcast is of my better skills. So I have a really hard time with social media. I really do. I love Facebook groups, um, but social media I'm still working on, but my agent already helped me this morning. I can't wait to share this with you. So I'm excited to talk about that. But we're gonna go through all this, but I know what you're probably feeling right now. Like you just can't do it all. And so stuff just slips through the cracks because it can all be perfect. And we know that. And even with an agent, y'all, everything's not gonna be perfect. But I think it's gonna relieve a lot of stress off your shoulders, what I'm about to share with you. But just know that that feeling that you have, that you can't get it all done, that everything is crazy, you don't have enough time in the day, that there is some help that's here where you don't have to go and like interview people right now and hire somebody. Like you can actually take onus of the situation and begin. Also, too, you don't have to be super techie. You are going to have to be a little bit savvy. I'm just gonna tell you that because this can be confusing. I can't imagine like the people that are in their 70s and 80s right now are probably mind blown about all this AI stuff. And and I'm thinking about the younger generation, like my young adult children. And, you know, they're into it, but still they're not like, oh my gosh, experts, because they may not be in the field that we're in of like having to run our own business, but they are definitely savvy and know how to get on these things and they're not as scared, right? They're like, okay, let me jump in, let me try stuff. And I think as we age and get older, we start becoming removed from what the newest technology is. And I want to encourage anyone that's in their 70s or 80s listening or even 90s, if you're in your 90s, I would love to know. By the way, if you are in your 90s, you better DM me and tell me that you are here. But, anyways, if you are doing this, um, you know, running a business or want to run a business, you are going to have to be a little bit savvy here. Okay. You don't have to be the techiest person. I know a lot of us give excuses like, I'm not good at numbers. I'm not good at financials. I'm not good at doing my books. I'm not good at like technology. I'm not techie. A ton of y'all tell me that that you're not techie. And here's good news. Again, you don't have to be a technical wizard. You don't have to know code. You don't have to know HTML code. You don't have to be a programmer, but you do have to be a little bit savvy. And what does that mean to be savvy? It just means someone who is curious and not afraid and who who will go and try something and be like, oh, yeah, okay, I get that. I don't really, you know, understand all of it. But you start working on things and you start learning. It's someone who has like been brave to try something and then they actually learn something and can have a conversation about it, right? Because some people can't have a conversation about any of this because they have no idea how to get on any of this stuff. So let's talk about this today.

Three Levels Of AI Help

So, first of all, let's kind of go through the three levels of like AI help that you have for your business. Okay. So you can kind of know where you should start. And I believe you should start at level one because then you start getting it. Like I've been working through these naturally, and I bet you have too. Those of you that have already been using AI, you've probably naturally been going through this workflow because all of this stuff is progressing and we've we're all kind of moving forward together. So if you started back when, um, you know, some years ago when this all came out, then you are naturally progressing. I'm sure you're getting better, you're getting more savvy, you understand how to work with it. In fact, I remember the first time we were on a, I believe it's a grow getters call on Zoom. And some of you who who know who you are, it was like Amanda Richardson, Sarah St. Clair. There's Kim Aguilar. Like a lot of you were on this call and we were talking about Chat GBT and we're like, have y'all tried it yet? And I just remember that. I remember seeing y'all's beautiful faces on the Zoom call and being like, Have you tried it? And Amanda was like, Yeah, I uh I tried it and I did this or that. I can't even remember exactly what she was saying. It was maybe with emails, like writing emails. And I was like, Oh my gosh, I need to try it. And I remember going downstairs to my husband and I was like, okay, I got to get on Chat GBT. And he'd been on it for a couple of weeks or something. And I'm like, here I go. And I got on it, was like, what in the world? What in the world? So, anyways, okay, here's the three levels. We're gonna talk through this, and I'm gonna tell you what I hired this AI agent to do this morning. Okay, so level one is just like chat. Okay. So if any of y'all have never opened an AI program like Chat GBT or Claude or Grok or any of those, that's all it is. You open it up and you can just ask it questions, kind of like Google, right? Don't you ask it questions? You ask Google questions. I mean, we always say we Google stuff. We Google questions. How do you do this? You know, sometimes we use YouTube. It's the same kind of thing. Like you ask it questions, like what's the best restaurant here? Or what should I do about this? Or where's a local this? Or anything. My knee hurts here, and you upload a picture, or now it's like, y'all, you know what I used it for the other day? I was getting some furniture for my dining room, like two little lamps to put on my buffet. And I found a wall picture, you know, it's a big piece of art that I love. And I at first like was taking a picture of my dining room, and then I said, here's the wall art and the lamps. Can you put these in the room and let me see what this look like? I was mind blown. Mind blown for home decorating. Y'all, you can take a picture of your room and then tell it a store that you like. Like I told it the furniture store name. Shout out to Lamb, which is a furniture store here in Houston. And um, they have home decor and accessories, and it would just put products from their website in my dining room. Looked absolutely amazing. That's all I ever needed to make my decisions because now I can envision it. Okay, I've digressed, but that's the kind of stuff y'all that you can do with chat. You can ask it anything that you want. Okay. So any questions that you would Google, think right now, like when you're about to go Google something, you can put that in Chat GBT or Claude or Rock or one and just pick one. Chat GBT is a great one to start with and do that. Okay, then there's level two, which is like kind of a helper right now. Like a helper right now. You assign it a task and it does it. Like maybe it um helps you write an email. Like you have an email that you typed up and you're like, this email doesn't really sound that good. I need this cleaned up and a little bit better. And you can paste it in to Chat GBT and it can rewrite the letter. So right there in the moment, it can it can rewrite the email. Okay. Or maybe rewrite an Instagram post before you post it. Or maybe you're trying to come up with some kind of document. It can create it, it can open like Google Docs or whatever for you and put a document in there and write it in there. That's like level two, helping you in that moment. So I started out asking it questions years ago, right? Just like, what should I do about my Instagram? How many days a week should I post? And I was just asking like questions. And then level two, I started realizing, oh, wait, I can get help if I need emails or or website copy. I need like the writing for my website to help me with my personality. I don't ever want it to be generic ever. I always rework it and retype stuff myself. Okay. But that's what you can do in the moment. Okay. So you can have it fix your website copy and like look at a page and do a task right then and give you suggestions, or if you need brainstorming tips or anything like that in the moment. Now it's much more extensive than this, but I'm trying to give you all an overview. Okay. So first we have the advisor. You just like ask it questions like Google gives you an answer. Level two is like the helper, the person that can help you. Well, I shouldn't say person. It's an AI agent that helps you in the moment. Like make a spreadsheet out of something. I had it organize my screenshots and all my files on my computer and like put certain things in different folders and combine folders and um delete duplicates. So it did stuff right then for me. Okay. Then there's level three. So this is the insane one that has kind of come out. It's been out with Claude Code and there's some other ones, but it's more like a teammate, like an always-on agent where it has its own computer. I know this sounds weird. I heard this this morning and didn't process that. I did not process it's like it has its own computer. Like it literally has like a computer next to it. I didn't get that. I think I know what this means. Again, I'm not an expert in this, but I think I know what it means now. But it has like its own memory and it keeps working on a task, but it's not on your computer. Like the app is there on your computer. But the work that it's doing, you're actually like looking into a window of it working on its computer. If that makes any sense. It's almost like if you literally had an employee at another location and you said, Can you look this up on my Shopify store? Can you do this? They would be on their own computer. It's not making your computer open up all those programs, right? That's what this agent does. It's on its own computer, its own memory. And it's working for you after you close your computer or turn off your laptop. It's still working, which really scares me, actually. But I'm not gonna think about it. You know what? Everything's exposed. There's nothing I can do. If hackers want to get in, they're gonna get in. I don't, I don't know what to do, but this is what happens. It's doing the work for you, okay? And it comes back when it's done and it will ask for your approval. Like, do you want to change this? Do you want to do this? So again, chat, if you just use it for chat, is something giving you advice or directing you or answering a question. Um the helper is doing work for you right now, like, oh, update this, clean up this email, uh, Instagram post, what should I do? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Okay. Level three is the always on agent and it's doing work for you on its own computer like another person. Okay. So I started on ChatGBT when I saw my lovely Grow Getters on Zoom. I I was on Chat GBT and I used it. Well, then I was using it a lot for writing, like writing my blog posts for this podcast. And I was handwriting them each week. Okay. And then I started using that, and I'm like, oh my gosh, it can summarize what I said and make it a lot better for my blog post. Then I realized it could take the transcript that I would paste into Chat GBT and it would create a blog post. And I was like, wait, what? This is saving me so much time, right? It was doing that. Um then now it can it has moved forward from that. So let me explain, first of all. So that's how I started. Okay. So we have Chat GBT. Then I moved to Claude because I felt like Claude was better at writing, was better at my voice, and just had good brainstorming. Like I would try to come up with headlines or wording, thinking about taglines for things. And I love taglines, by the way. I could do that all day long. Naming a business, a tagline, a podcast. If you need help with this, I do offer coaching because I absolutely love it. I will probably use AI when I'm helping you, just so you know. Okay. So you can use AI too and try to do it on your own, but sometimes you get really stuck on that and you need someone else's opinion about your business and to really look at it and think it through. So, anyways, that's you know what I was doing. Okay. So we went through those three levels. Okay. So now let's kind of go through what you need to know about these bots, about these agents that are beyond just the chat in each.

Which Tools Do What Best

Okay. So we already know there's Claude, Chat, GBT, Grok. Okay. We already know there's Gemini, Google, Gemini. Like you can use any of these. Those are basic for your chat, like what you would normally Google, and it can go beyond what Google would do. It helps you do things. So it is more sophisticated that I'm making it, but that's the basic understanding. Let me tell you about the bots. The bots or the agents, whatever you want to call them, are working on your behalf on their own computer. It is not taking up the bandwidth of your computer. So right now, when I was using Claude and having do all this stuff, like it's working on it. It's heavy, it's it's taking up a lot of tokens and it's it's working now on my computer, right? Claude Code does that. I think Claude, this is my personal opinion, is your like go-to thinking partner. It's really good at writing, coming up with ideas, writing things. Um, you can come up with prompts really well within Claude that you can use on other agents and bots. So Claude, again, um, is helpful for like wording. That's that's the best thing. I think it's really good at writing and coming up with things. And if you need to create a set of directions for other things, it's amazing at that. Okay, that's my personal opinion, but it does a ton of things really awesomely. Okay. The Grok bot, and by the way, let me just say the Claude Code is that more expensive version that's doing things on your computer. It can create images and stuff like that. The images have been okay. I feel like Chat GBT does better images, but we use both at our home. Both. We have ChatGBT subscription and Claude Code. We have both. I think we pay $100 a month for both. Um, I'll have to look. I know the Claude Code one is $100 a month because I was having it do all this stuff to help me previously when I was setting up my journals and other things, and I was having it, you know, run with big files and do all this stuff. So, anyways, okay, that's Claude. The Grokbot. It was launched in August. So I'm a little late to the party here in September. Um, maybe they didn't have it publicly. I guess they did. I guess they did. I'm way behind on that. Um, so that's two months. Two months, and I'm way behind already in this world. It was limited to Mac when it first came out. Um, I think maybe now it is on PC as well. But it is really good at doing work when you're not around. So I am loving the Grokbot for being its own employee for me. And it can do its own thing and it's doing it. It's working and it's on its own computer. It's not on my files. Like this morning, I had to do something and I went on a walk. Now there is the Grokbot app, and I had the app and I was kind of updating it, but it was doing it all in the background. Okay. ChatGBT dots is their new bot that just came out. And OpenAI just introduced it as an always-on agent inside Chat GBT that will make progress and do things between your conversations that you're normally having. You can give it a goal, you can connect apps, and you decide what it's allowed to do on its own. Okay. So that one is rolling out right now. Again, I have not tried that, but if you're a chat GBT lover, then you could try that first. I don't know the pricing on that. Okay, the fourth one is the Muse by Meta. And I don't know if y'all heard about this. I saw it when I logged into Facebook one day, and it was a few weeks ago, and I downloaded it on my phone. I tried to use it and I got annoyed for some reason and I turned it off. I don't know why. I didn't love the little character that it had. Like it was like this blob, this blob character. I don't know something about it. I felt like a sloth when I was using it. I don't know. Anyways, um, I'm sure it's amazing. So I'm not knocking it. I'm just, I'm, I'm kidding here. But at the same time, I tried to use it. I think it was more at the time that I opened it, it was more for personal. And now I think they literally just expanded it to small businesses and have integrations for Shopify and Slack and Dropbox and all that stuff that would be relevant to a lot of you. So you could try Meta's Muse and see what you think. Okay. So let's summarize again the Claude Code, which is what they call it. And again, Claude Code is not on another computer. It's on your computer within your cloud. It's a strategist, it helps you think and plan. So it's amazing. It has its own skills that are really good. The Grokbot and ChatGBT Dots and Muse are the doers. They get each their own computer, or they each have their own computer and they keep working without you. Okay.

The Real Skill: Giving Clear Directions

So you kind of need to pick one. Um, the model actually matters less than the directions that you are giving it. So you have to be good at giving directions. And and I was literally thinking about this the other day that we have not been super good as. humans as giving, you know, at giving super clear, I'm talking crystal clear directions. And that is a skill that I think is wonderful that we are all going to be developing as we are working on any of these chat bots or anything. Like we have to get good at getting the thoughts out of our head, whether we speak them to the chat bot or we type them. I just have really had this revelation that like we have to get good at that. We have to get good at knowing what we want so we can get these employees of our of ours, these AI agents, the right direction so they give us what we actually want. Okay, so here we go. Now's the fun part.

My Grokbot Test Run Results

I'm going to tell you what I tested this morning. So again we were watching the Today show this morning. I think it was the today show and it was talking about chat GBD dot just came out and I was like, wait, what? And I was like, wait, this looks amazing. And then I started researching online real quick and I was looking and it just came out and I someone I know uses Grok and was getting a computer to work on his business and use the bots. And I thought maybe I should try that. So I went on to the grok bot. And don't ask me why I just immediately went to grok bot instead of the other but I think I may have described what I'm trying to do and it gave me that. This all happened so fast this morning and I was like, okay, let me do that. And grok bot didn't have a trial. So it's $20 to get the grok bot for the month. And I'm like, okay, let's just see what this is. And at first I thought this was giving me Grok their their like chat GBT version. You know what I'm saying? The chat version and the bot this is just for the agent. Just for the agent as $20. So it's its own app. Okay. And I started typing in, you know, I've got a business coaching business. I have a podcast. I have a boutique that's on Shopify. I was telling it everything. And it was like, okay, well put me to work. And it was like put me in coach. Like what can you have me do? I'll do something right now. I was like, well I'm starting to run Facebook ads and then I'm like I need help with this and that. And I was listing off and I was like holy cow like I have these major um what do you call it categories categories of things that I work on in my business. And I'm sure you do too. So you need to think about what are the major categories? Like you have a website like website copy. Then you maybe have email or SMS marketing. Then you have Instagram or any of your social media posting you may run ads, paid ads, all the things, right? Maybe you have a busy email inbox and you need help with that. Like what are the categories of the things that you work on every day? That's what you're going to want to talk to it about. Okay. So that's what I did. Okay. So I told it that and it was like, okay, what do you want me to do? And I'm like, well I actually need help today because I need to figure out like Instagram strategy. I'm not great at it and I need help like what do I post? And it was like here do a post and it scanned my whole Shopify store. So it's over here working on its own computer. Scanned my Instagram and it told me like okay let's just do a post of this bundle the business owner bundle post that today and then you can also post it to your story and it kind of gave me an outline of what to write. I switched it up and added because I'm like I have to have my own personality like this cannot sound like AI. And so I did that I took a real picture instead of like an AI picture because if you post on Instagram and it knows that it's AI, it's going to say it's AI. So I took a real photo on my kitchen table of the item and I posted it. And I was like I can I was like that was just worth the $20 like just one day of telling me what I should do based on my products and everything. And it's not even that it's getting that many hits on my social media or or comments and all that. I wish I could tell you oh my gosh I just went viral from my post this morning. That's not the case because my stuff isn't going viral. I am not that great at it. Although I do have a viral post that has like 400 and something thousand views. Anyways long story you can see it on my Instagram at she's just getting started. So you can go there and see it. It's been to the top but anyways I did have that one post a while back. But my point is that's not what I was doing it for. I was doing it for the fact that I have a weight on my shoulders all the time that I don't know what to post on social media. Like it's a weight on me and I don't think about it a lot because I don't post a lot but it's in the back of my mind and it's something heavy. And it like literally took it off my shoulders like perfect. And then I was like I had an idea maybe tomorrow we could do another one because I really want to share this or maybe I just said I also want to share this and it was like okay let's do it tomorrow. I'll have it all ready here you go here's this I was like what it planned my whole post for tomorrow. Am I using exactly what it says no but it planned my whole post. So that was the first thing I did this morning. I was like holy cow this is crazy. Then I hooked it up to my Shopify store and I'm like can you look through my Shopify store right now at the products that I have I'd been working on SEO titles and all that. I mean it had taken me a while I was like adding all that in and I have a history of knowing a little about SEO because I had my online boutiques for a long time. And then it was like okay oh some of these didn't have you this or that you need to clean these up these other ones are better. You want me to do it for you right now? And I'm like yes because it's like put me in coach all the time it literally 20 seconds it was done. It's like okay here I updated all this are you good publish it did it to my Shopify store. I didn't even open my Shopify store. I had it linked but I didn't even open it and it fixed it. I was like what is happening right now then I was like okay I got to work on my Facebook ads. Will you look in my Facebook ads account I'm just starting um I historically have not been graded ads. I had hired someone for Google ads year ago years ago just for a little bit to test it. It was so expensive I stopped but I ran ads in the past but I did waste a lot of money on that. So I had to be very careful. And I'm just trying to test some mock-ups and some certain things with my ads and doing some testing right to figure out then how I establish the ad that's working right and it had all these suggestions and then it was like okay you need to do this, do this. But then I was using Facebook's like their ad manager within ads, they have an AI in there and it was telling me to do this, do this, do this, like spend this much more you need to up it. And then I went back to the grok agent. It was like no you do not need to do that at this stage of business. You need to have more proof you need to get some data this weekend for the next like five days and then we can look at doing that next I was like thank you so much. Then it told me an app to cancel it was like you don't need that app anymore. That just saved me like $30 a month or more maybe it was more than that. Y'all it was doing all this while I'm like sitting here I I I absolutely am floored at what it can be doing for me. In the mornings it can give me updates on ads or upset on traffic on my website it can do all sorts of things. I haven't even tipped the corner of it what it can do but I'm already flabbergasted at $20 a month for this AI agent.

Guardrails And Approval Settings

It's crazy. So here's what I want to give you right now before we close is and that is guardrails that is boundaries for your work that you're going to do on a bot. Okay. This isn't to scare you this is just about being smart right start with low stakes tasks like researching drafting things organizing summarizing. I mean I think about my evolution of how I used AI. And again in the beginning it was just like how many times a week should I post on Instagram and then I had it reworking emails and then I started having it research and doing all sorts of things right okay make sure you have your approval settings all set up I'm sure it will do that. It did that today it was like having me you know it had like a two step approval it would come to my phone and all this stuff right also set it so it doesn't do anything automatically like you approve everything and it always says I have not changed anything you are going to have to approve this. Okay. It can be wrong on things. So remember that it can be wrong. Check everything don't just take its writing and paste it in whatever you're doing an email or your website or social media like add your own flavor and personality but I think it gives you that skeleton those bare bones and it's amazing. Okay. So I want you to really think about that and I also too had found out like because there is friction that's going on in the world right now. They're trying to figure out what bots can do and can't do. And um my son had said he he downloaded the bot for Muse to go on Amazon and he said I heard that it works on Amazon and it did like a couple weeks ago it said that. And then we found out like last week Amazon has blocked Muse from shopping on its site because they want to make sure it's safe and getting it all figured out.

Building Specialist Bots For Each Task

So y'all my agent is a rock star. So what I did in today for last thing what I did today just to give you this tip is that I had my bot and it's like one bot, but you can have specific bots for those categories of tasks that you work on in your business every day or every week. So like email marketing your website research ads um all the things all the things that you work on you create a separate bot in there. So each bot in Grokbot or whatever you use is a specialist in that task. So I have like eight bots or something seven or eight bots. And now I'm going to start training each of them on what I need them to do for me. And I can set up tasks where like I go to bed and I get up in the morning and it has something ready and it gives me data and and like a to-do list. Like I want my to-dos of what I should be focusing on each day. I already asked it okay what do I need to do tomorrow? And it was like do this, this, this, and this and I'm like, what just happened? This is amazing. This is amazing. So y'all it can really change your business. My eyes have just been wide open today from all of this and I know it's only going to get better and more efficient. And I don't want you to get it behind. So make sure you are trying and testing and becoming savvy. It doesn't mean you're an expert. You're just you can have a conversation about it. You know what it's like to use it. So when you hear things and other people talking you can become more educated and and be able to run your business efficiently because y'all, everyone's leveling up and they're using this and this is either going to be you're on the ship or you're off on the shore on an island by yourself and you can't.
